Overview

The Master of Research Studies is designed as a pathway to a Doctor of Philosophy primarily for international applicants who do not meet the University’s normal academic admission requirements (Honours degree or research Masters). 

The program combines intermediate and advanced economic theory, research method training, and the opportunity to apply research principles through a dissertation.

Academic Program Rules for Master of Research Studies (Economics)

There shall be a Master of Research Studies (Economics).

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the degree of Masters of Research Studies (Economics), the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 48 units, comprising:

  1. Core courses to the value of 12 units
  2. Elective courses to the value of 24 units
  3. Research equivalent courses to the value of 12 units in the form of a research dissertation
