Overview
The Master of Business Research is designed for graduates of a business coursework masters degree who wish to undertake research leading to a PhD. It aims to provide students with a first exposure to the research skills required to undertake any academic research project, and includes teaching in research methodologies and discipline specialisation. A dissertation comprises 30% of the program. Applicants must submit a 2 page proposal summary to the Business School together with the application. Completion of this program satisfies the entry requirements for a higher degree by research. Applicants seeking entry to the program must have completed their preceding studies with a GPA of 5.0.
The Master of Business Research is an AQF Level 9 Masters Extension qualification with a standard full-time duration of 1.5 years.
Conditions
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Faculty before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.

There shall be a Master of Business Research.
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the degree of Master of Business Research, the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 36 units, comprising:
- Core courses to the value of 12 units
- Elective courses to the value of 12 units
- Research equivalent courses to the value of 12 units in the form of a research dissertation

Research Dissertation
To satisfy the requirements for Research Dissertation students must complete courses to the value of 12 units.
