Overview
The Bachelor of Criminology offers a range of courses on the sociology of crime and deviance as well as providing students with the opportunity to study subjects that form part of the growing field of crime science. Key to the program is the application of these theories and techniques to both criminal justice policy and practice.
The Bachelor of Criminology is an AQF Level 7 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 3 years.
Academic Program Rules for Bachelor of Criminology
There shall be a Bachelor of Criminology.
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the degree of Bachelor of Criminology, the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 72 units, comprising:
- Core courses to the value of 27 units, including ARTS 1007 The Enquiring Mind: Freedom and Media
- Elective courses to the value of 24 units
- Closed Electives to the value of 12 units
- Broadening Electives to the value of 9 units
- or Elective courses to the value of 12 units, plus Closed Electives to the value of 12 units, plus a minor in Psychology to the value of 21 units, in lieu of the courses required in (2) and (4)

To satisfy the requirements for Psychology Minor students must complete courses to the value of 21 units.
A minor comprising Psychology courses to the value of 21 units. 9 units at Level I and 12 units at Level II must be completed.

Elective courses may be chosen from any of the Elective Lists within the Bachelor of Arts program.
