Bachelor of International Relations with Bachelor of Economics double degree.
Conditions
Condition of enrolment
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Program Coordinator before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.
Academic Program Rules for Bachelor of International Relations with Bachelor of Economics
There shall be a Bachelor of International Relations with Bachelor of Economics.
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the degree of Bachelor of International Relations with the Bachelor of Economics double degree program, the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of a combined total of not less than 96 units, comprising:
- Core courses to the value of 48 units for the Bachelor of International Relations
- Core courses to the value of 18 units
- Closed Electives to the value of 18 units
- Language studies courses to the value of at least 9 units, with not more than 6 units at Level I and at least 3 units at Level II, chosen from the following language studies disciplines:
- Chinese Studies
- French Studies
- German Studies
- Indonesian Studies
- Italian Studies
- Japanese Studies
- Spanish Studies
- Open electives to the value of 9 units or an additional 9 units of language studies courses to complete a minor of 18 units in the chosen language.
- Not more than 12 units at Level I
- Level II and III courses to the value of at least 36 units, with at least 12 units at Level III
- Level II courses to the value of 6 units must be completed before commencing Level III courses
- Courses to the value of 48 units from the Bachelor of Economics including:
- Level I courses to the value of 12 units
- Level II courses to the value of 12 units
- Level III courses to the value of 24 units
A student who undertakes the Bachelor of International Relations with Bachelor of Economics may count a maximum of 24 units towards both degrees, satisfying the requirements for the two degrees with a minimum total of 96 units (or 4 years) of study.

A student who undertakes any of the three double degrees listed above may count a maximum of 24 units towards both degrees with a minimum total of 96 units (or 4 years) of study.
The requirements to complete a minor in the Bachelor of International Relations is waived.
*Exemption
International students and/or students studying a Diploma in Languages or a language major or minor in another degree are exempt from completing the mandatory language component, although may complete language units in a different language if they wish.

Students who wish to complete a language minor in addition to the non-language minor will be able to dedicate the 9 units of open electives to the study of an additional 9 units of their chosen language.
