Overview
The Master of Sciences (Defence) is designed to serve the needs of professionals working in the defence industry, who wish to upgrade their qualifications by undertaking advanced studies in topics related to the defence industry, including a substantial research project.
The Master of Sciences (Defence) is an AQF Level 9 Masters Extension qualification with a standard full-time duration of 1.5 years.
Conditions
Condition of Admission
1. Work experience: At least 18 months employment experience in a defence-related industry is required.
Condition of Enrolment
2. Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Executive Dean or delegate before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.

There shall be a Master of Sciences (Defence).
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the degree of Master of Sciences (Defence), the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 36 units, comprising:
- Courses to the value of 24 units, including Core courses to the value of 6 units and Elective courses to the value of
18 units - A Research Project to the value of 12 units
