Overview
The Undergraduate Certificate in Cyber Security is suitable for students from diverse backgrounds who wish to develop new skills in the growing area of cyber security. It provides a pathway, and advanced standing, to further learning in either the Bachelor of Computer Science or Bachelor of Information Technology. It is also a stand-alone qualification of broad applicability in today’s workplace.
In this program, students will undertake four core courses designed to provide skills and knowledge in computer science and cyber security.
The Undergraduate Certificate in Cyber Security has a standard full-time duration of 0.5 years.
Conditions
Commonwealth Supported Places for Undergraduate Certificates are only available to domestic students in 2021 as part of the Australian Government's Job Ready Graduates package. On current TEQSA advice (22 February 2021), students must complete the qualification by 31 December 2021.
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Faculty before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.
Academic Program Rules for Undergraduate Certificate in Cyber Security
There shall be a Undergraduate Certificate in Cyber Security.
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the degree of Undergraduate Certificate in Cyber Security, the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following courses with a combined total of not less than 12 units, comprising:
