Overview
The Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (Honours) [4 years] program provides deep mathematical or statistical knowledge in a chosen discipline. The program provides a broad foundation in the mathematical sciences, the option of majoring in pure mathematics, applied mathematics or statistics, and research training through a substantial supervised research project in the final year of the program.
Students enrolled in this program must maintain a GPA of 4.5 in each Teaching Period or will be required to transfer to the Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences. To progress into the fourth year of the program, students must have completed 12 units of Level III courses in Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics or Statistics with a GPA of 5.0 or better.
The Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences (Honours) [4 years] is an AQF Level 8 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 4 years.
Conditions
Condition of enrolment
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Executive Dean or delegate before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.
