Overview
The Bachelor of Music provides the intensive professional training required for employment in the music industry. It seeks to provide a challenging and stimulating learning environment in which all students may achieve their full potential in their chosen specialisation. It aims to develop educated, flexible and imaginative graduates who possess the knowledge and skills required to function effectively in a wide range of professional contexts. The program provides students with the option to undertake specialised study in either Classical Performance, Jazz Performance, Classical Voice, Music Composition, Musicology, Popular Music, Sonic Arts, and Music Education and Pedagogy.
All applicants must attend and pass an audition / interview and a musicianship test (except Musicology applicants, who will be required to sit the musicianship test only). Applicants may audition for more than one instrument or major.
The Bachelor of Music is an AQF Level 7 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 3 years.
