Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security is designed to meet the demand for cyber security professionals in a variety of sectors. It provides a strong analytical framework to understand the challenges, problems and solutions of cyber security from a computer science perspective. Students will develop technical knowledge and learn to apply this through the development of secure programming, networks and operating systems It provides advanced standing to further learning in the Master of Cyber Security.
The Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security is an AQF Level 8 program with a standard full-time duration of 0.5 years.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the technical practice of Cyber Security, and its application within industry contexts.
- Apply Cyber Security technology within real-world contexts.
- Demonstrate professional attitudes, standards and values.
- Use interpersonal skills to enable effective communication with a range of audiences.
Conditions
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Executive Dean or delegate before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.
Program Maximum Duration: As specified in Table 1 of the Coursework Academic Programs Policy, this program must be completed within a Maximum Duration which includes any periods of non-enrolment, leave of absence or approved study at other institutions for credit towards a Program.
Academic Program Rules for Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security
There shall be a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security.
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 12 units, comprising:
