Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Petroleum Engineering will provide graduates with a foundation in Petroleum Engineering and open up opportunities for entering into the exploration and production (upstream) part of the petroleum industry. It is also aimed at petrotechnical professionals already working in the upstream petroleum industry who wish to advance their technical careers in petroleum engineering. Individuals who have a relevant degree with a strong mathematics component (such as geophysics, physics, applied mathematics), or who have significant upstream petroleum industry experience, may also be eligible for, and benefit from, this program.
The program is suitable for students with no prior experience in petroleum engineering. In this program, students undertake four courses. The program provides advanced standing to further learning in the Master of Petroleum Engineering.
The Graduate Certificate in Petroleum Engineering is an AQF Level 8 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 0.5 years.
