Overview

The Master of Property is designed to prepare students for professional practice in the property sector. The program has a strong foundation in property development, appraisal, design, construction and project management. Students will develop strong presentation skills, negotiation and inter-personal skills.

The Master of Property is an AQF Level 9 Masters qualification with a standard full-time duration of 2 years.

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate understanding of an advanced body of knowledge across a range of property relevant disciplines along with relevant relationships between these discipline areas especially in respect of property development.
  2. Display cognitive, communication, technical and research skills relevant to practice as a property professional.
  3. Demonstrate expert capability to practice as a property professional in an international context.
  4. Demonstrate a high level of ability to synthesise information and apply relevant theory in defining and solving complex problems.
  5. Exercise critical skills and deep knowledge of property to make autonomous professional judgements based on relevant evidence.
  6. Scope, design and perform an independent research enquiry into a property relevant topic.

Conditions

Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Faculty before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.

Program Maximum Duration: As specified in Table 1 of the Coursework Academic Programs Policy, this program must be completed within a Maximum Duration which includes any periods of non-enrolment, leave of absence or approved study at other institutions for credit towards a Program. 

Academic Program Rules for Master of Property

There shall be a Master of Property.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the degree of Master of Property, the candidate must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 48 units, comprising:

  1. Core courses to the value of 42 units
  2. Research equivalent courses to the value of 6 units in the form of a research dissertation
