Overview

The Diploma in Music (Music Production) is designed as an entry portal into the arts, entertainment and media industries. It will provide students with a thorough grounding in studio and live sound engineering. A strong emphasis on practical activities involving session set-up and management, recording, mixing and post-production, complemented by theoretical studies of sound, acoustics, digital audio, and music, provides the basis for either work in the industry or successful continuation into further tertiary study.

The Diploma in Music (Music Production) is an AQF Level 5 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 1 year or 2 years part-time.

Conditions

Condition of enrolment
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Program Coordinator before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.

There shall be a Diploma in Music (Music Production).

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the Diploma in Music (Music Production), the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of Core courses with a combined total of not less than 24 units:
