Overview

This program will provide students with the skills, knowledge and application of scientific and engineering principles that will enable them to take a holistic view of engineering problems and to solve them in a systematic and sustainable manner.  The degree emphasises the connections between infrastructure, people, the environment and the economy in the context of water resources and supply, stormwater management and reuse, water and wastewater treatment, soils and geology, resource and waste management, air and noise pollution and energy systems.  Throughout the degree, there is a focus on the use of computer-based methods for solving realistic engineering problems in a variety of problem domains, although a range of professional practice skills is also emphasised. The degree provides students with the flexibility to specialise in a mix of student-selected courses in areas such as environmental science, environmental studies, environmental policy, environmental change or environmental modelling. The finance program introduces students to the global and institutional aspects of our financial systems.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Environmental)/ Bachelor of Finance is an AQF Level 08 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 5 year. This program is accredited by Engineers Australia and graduates of the program qualify for professional membership of Engineers Australia.
