Overview

The Master of Cyber Security will provide graduates with a foundation in Cyber Security technical and governance considerations, and allow specialisation in a specific area. The program combines technical depth with developments in management, public policy, law and social sciences. Students will elect to undertake either a research project within their area of specialisation, or an industry-based project.
The Master of Cyber Security is an AQF Level 9 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 2 years, as a conversion program.
The Master of Cyber Security is an AQF Level 9 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 1.5 years, as an extension program.
 

Academic Program Rules for Master of Cyber Security

There shall be a Master of Cyber Security.

There shall be a Master of Cyber Security.

Qualification requirements - Academic Program
To qualify for the degree of Master of Cyber Security, as a conversion program, the student must complete satisfactorily a
program of study consisting of the following courses with a combined total of not less than 48 units, comprising:
Core Courses to the value of 12 units
Core Conversion courses to the value of 12 units
A specialisation, to the value of 6 units, from one of the following:
• Cyber Security Management
• Secure Software Development
A research project or industry based project pathway to the value of 12 units, in the area of specialisation
Electives to the value of 3 or 6 units depending on the project pathway choice

To qualify for the degree of Master of Cyber Security, as an extension program after completion of a Bachelor of Computer
Science (or equivalent), the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following courses with a
combined total of not less than 36 units, comprising.
Core Courses to the value of 12 units
A specialisation, to the value of 6 units, from one of the following:
• Cyber Security Management
• Secure Software Development
A research project or industry based project pathway to the value of 12 units, in the area of specialisation
Electives to the value of 3 or 6 units depending on the project pathway choice

Core Courses
