Overview

This program provides students with an understanding of the principles and practice of environmental policy, planning and governance. It addresses how global warming, water shortages, deforestation and the like are to be managed now and into the future.

Applicants seeking entry to the program must have completed the Graduate Diploma in Environmental Policy and Management with a minimum GPA of 5.0.

The Master of Environmental Policy and Management is an AQF Level 9 Masters Conversion qualification with a standard full-time duration of 2 years.

Conditions

Interruption of program:
Students must apply for permission from the Executive Dean or delegate before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.

There shall be a Master of Environmental Policy and Management.

Qualification Requirements

Academic Program:

To qualify for the degree of Master of Environmental Policy and Management, the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 48 units, comprising:

In the Research Specialisation:

Core courses to the value of 12 units
Elective courses to the value of 12 units
Research equivalent courses to the value of 24 units in the form of a research dissertation

In the Coursework Specialisation:

Core courses to the value of 12 units
Elective courses to the value of 24 units
Research equivalent courses to the value of 12 units in the form of a research dissertation
