Overview

The Master of Property is designed to prepare students for professional practice in the property sector. The program has a strong foundation in property development, appraisal, design, construction and project management. Students will develop strong presentation skills, negotiation and inter-personal skills.
The Master of Property is an AQF Level 9 Masters Conversion qualification with a standard full-time duration of 2 years.

Conditions

Condition of Enrolment

Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Faculty before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.

There shall be a Master of Property (MProp).

Qualification Requirements
Academic Program

To qualify for the degree of Master of Property, the candidate must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 48 units, comprising:

  1. Core courses to the value of 42 units
  2. Research equivalent courses to the value of 6 units in the form of a research dissertation

Core Courses

To satisfy the requirements for Core Courses students must complete courses to the value of 42 units.

Year I

All of the following courses must be completed:

CORPFIN 7005 Principles of Finance (M) (3 units)

CORPFIN 7049 Real Estate Valuation and Investment (M) (3 units)

ECON 7200 Economic Principles (M) (3 units)

GEOG 7015 Introduction to Urbanisation (3 units)

LAW 7123 Perspectives on Property Law & Society (3 units)

LAW 7177 Introduction to Australian Law (3 units)

PROJMGNT 5021 Project Management Fundamentals (3 units)

PROP 7000 Development and Construction (3 units)

Year II

All of the following courses must be completed:

ARCH 7045 Development Studio (6 units)

ARCH 7042 Designing Research (M) (3 units)

PROP 7001 Property Research and Marketing (3 units)

PROP 7002 International Property (3 units)

PROP 7003 Property Asset Management (3 units)

Research Dissertation

To satisfy the requirements for Research Dissertation students must complete courses to the value of 6 units.
