Overview

The Diploma in Music is designed for students wishing to 'test the waters' with University level study and allows the flexibility to exit with a Diploma or use as entry pathway into the Bachelor of Music. This program consists of studies in Popular Music & Creative Technologies, Ensemble Studies, and Music and Media.

The Diploma in Music is an AQF Level 5 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 1 year full-time or two years part-time.

Academic Program Rules for Diploma in Music

There shall be a Diploma in Music.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the Diploma in Music the student must satisfactorily complete a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 24 units.
Students must complete:
a. core courses to the value of 15 units which must include ARTS 1007 The Enquiring Mind: Freedom and Media
b. elective courses to the value of 9 units
