Overview
The Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences provides students with knowledge in both the Humanities and the Sciences. This interdisciplinary program offers students both choice and flexibility in shaping their own course of study. The program is ideal for students who wish to explore a wide variety of subject areas and for those who wish to follow a specific interest in a particular area of arts or sciences or both. Students have the opportunity to tailor this program to their academic interests. The program is taught by academic staff from both the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of the Arts.
The Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences is an AQF Level 7 qualification with a standard full-time duration
of 3 years.

Condition of enrolment
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Program Coordinator before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.
Academic Program Rules for Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences
There shall be a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences the student must complete satisfactorily a program
of study consisting of the following courses with a combined total of not less than 72 units, comprising:
- Level I courses not exceeding 33 units.
- Level III courses not exceeding 24 units
- Core courses to the value of 33 units
- Open electives to the value of 39 units, which must include at least 18 units from the Faculty of Arts and at least 18 units from the Faculty of Sciences
- A Science or Arts major may be presented
- An Arts minor may be presented
- In the case of a major or minor in Indigenous Knowledges and Society students will be required to undertake an additional course to the value of 3 units in lieu of ABORIG 1002 Indigenous Scholarship & Interplay of Knowledges.
