Overview

The Master of Bioinformatics is designed to develop skills in a variety of aspects of translational bioinformatics. Students will be exposed to a range of analytical approaches and develop highly competitive bioinformatics, research and project management skills. Students with recognised prior learning in the core areas of the programme may extend their studies into areas such as advanced algorithms, analysis of 'big data' and IT commercialization.
As translational bioinformatics is the focus of the curriculum, courses within the programme focus strongly on application of bioinformatic approaches to real world problems particularly as related to human biology and agricultural career opportunities.

The Master of Bioinformatics is an AQF Level 9 qualification with a standard duration of 2 years.

Conditions

Condition of Continuing Enrolment:  A student must complete all of the coursework before commencing the research project.

Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Executive Dean or delegate before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.
