Overview

The Bachelor of Technology (Defence Industries) is designed to meet future workforce needs in defence industries. The program is designed to develop key skills and knowledge across multiple disciplines to deliver a unique set of attributes sought after by defence industries. This program builds a sound foundation of engineering science and develops skills to identify, analyse and solve complex problems. The education experience is broadened with modules in human factors, logistics, society and sustainability. The program strongly promotes workplace readiness alongside formal learning with the inclusion of two internship placements.

The Bachelor of Technology (Defence Industries) is an AQF Level 7 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 3 years.
 

Conditions

Condition of Enrolment
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Faculty before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.
 

Academic Program Rules for Bachelor of Technology (Defence Industries)

There shall be a Bachelor of Technology (Defence Industries).

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the degree of Bachelor of Technology (Defence Industries), the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following courses with a combined total of not less than 72 units, comprising:
Level I courses to a maximum of 24 units
Level II courses to a maximum of 21 units
Level III courses to the value of at least 27 units
Core courses to the value of 57 units
Elective courses to a maximum of 9 units, including Broadening Electives to the value of 9 units
Internships comprising 3 units at Level II and 12 or 6 units at Level III
