Overview
The Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security [Online] is designed to meet the demand for cyber security professionals in public, NGO, law enforcement, and commercial sectors. It provides a strong analytical framework to understand the challenges, problems and solutions of cyber security from a range of professional perspectives. Students will develop technical and business knowledge and learn to apply this through a managerial perspective skills to help secure an organisation’s information systems. It provides a pathway, and advanced standing, to further learning in the Master of Cyber Security [Online].
The Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security [Online] is an AQF Level 8 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 0.5 years, as an extension program.
Conditions
Condition of Enrolment
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Faculty before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.

There shall be a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security [Online] [Effective from OTP 4, 2021].
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the degree of Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security [Online], the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of 12 units, comprising:
- Core courses to the value of 12 units
- Students without a programming background are required to take COMP SCI 7210OL Foundations of Computer Science - Python A in lieu of POLIS 7024OL Political Institutions and Policy-Making
