Overview

The Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) is a program of study which students undertake to develop project management skills with a focus on the application of technology in construction. The program is designed and structured to provide career and management-ready graduates for the construction and infrastructure industries. Students will acquire a sound foundation of knowledge in civil construction, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and engineering construction management. The program offers a compact structure which covers essential knowledge and skills in construction, project management and BIM with a strong focus of applying technology in construction and management techniques specific to the construction industry.

The Bachelor of Construction Management is an AQF Level 8 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 4 years.

Conditions

Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Faculty before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.

Academic Program Rules for Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours)

There shall be a Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours).

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the degree of Bachelor of  Construction Management (Honours), the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following courses with a combined total of not less than 96 units, comprising:

  1. Level I courses to a maximum of 24 units
  2. Level Il courses to a maximum of 24 units
  3. Level III courses to the value of at least 24 units
  4. Level IV courses to the value of at least 24 units
  5. Core courses to the value of 96 units
  6. A 12 week work placement capstone experience.
