Overview
This program is designed to develop skills in research and specialist disciplinary knowledge. Students can complement knowledge from their specialisation with electives in complementary disciplines and have the opportunity to undertake an internship with an organisation related to their specialisation.
The Master of Arts is an AQF Level 9 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 2 years.
Academic Program Rules for Master of Arts
There shall be a Master of Arts.
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the degree of Master of Arts as an extension program, the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study with a combined total of not less than 36 units.
The extension program is available in one of the following specialisations:
- Creative Practice in Music
- Environmental Studies
- International Relations
The Master of Arts (Creative Practice in Music) as an Extension program comprises 6 units of core courses in Creative Music Practice, 6 units of research methods courses, 12 units of electives and a 12 unit final project.
The Master of Arts (Environmental Studies) as an Extension program comprises 12 units of core courses in Environmental Studies, 6 units of research methods courses, 6 units of electives and a 12 unit final project.
The Master of Arts (International Relations) as an Extension program comprises 18 units of core courses in International Relations, 6 units of research methods courses, and a 12 unit final project.
To qualify for the degree of Master of Arts as a conversion program, the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study with a combined total of not less than 48 units.
The conversion program is available in one of the following specialisations:
- Environmental Studies
- International Relations
The Master of Arts (Environmental Studies) as a Conversion program comprises 18 units of core courses in Environmental Studies, 6 units of research methods courses, 12 units of electives and a 12 unit final project.
The Master of Arts (International Relations) as a Conversion program comprises 18 units of core courses in International Relations, 6 units of research methods courses, 12 units of electives and a 12 unit final project.
