Overview

This program provides students with a thorough grounding in both contemporary media and criminology. Media explores how the complex media industry is rapidly evolving under the influence of changing technologies and the different needs of societies around the world. Criminology offers a range of courses on the sociology of crime and deviance as well as providing students with the opportunity to study courses that form part of the growing field of crime science. Students may develop distinctive pathways through the double degree program that allow them to develop knowledge and skills in relation to different facets of the practical and theoretical understanding of media and the application of criminology theories and techniques to criminal justice policy and practice. Students who complete this program may go on to careers in a wide range of organisations and fields.

The Bachelor of Media with Bachelor of Criminology is an AQF Level 7 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 4 years.
