Overview

The Diploma in Arts program is designed to provide students with an introduction to Arts courses to enable them to explore their options before taking on further study. On completion of the degree, and provided students complete 6 units of Level I courses in two separate study areas and achieve a GPA of 4.0 or higher, these courses can count toward a major and minor upon transfer into the Bachelor of Arts program.

Students complete 24 units of Level I courses with 21 units comprising courses in the Faculty of Arts, and a Core Competency Course of 3 units which may be in the Faculty of Arts or another Faculty. Depending on the courses studied, students may then be granted 24 units (1 year) of credit upon transfer into the Bachelor of Arts.

If a student successfully completes the Diploma in Arts and wishes to enter a program in another Faculty, this will be subject to the approval of the other Faculty.
