Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Science provides students with an introduction to theoretical and practical knowledge in specialised scientific fields including Earth Science, Grape and Wine Science, International Agricultural Development and Plant Breeding Innovation. The Graduate Certificate in Science is an AQF Level 8 qualification with a standard duration of 6 months.

Conditions

Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Executive Dean or delegate before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.

Academic Program Rules for Graduate Certificate in Science

There shall be a Graduate Certificate in Science.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the degree of Graduate Certificate in Science, the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 12 units, comprising:

  1. Core courses to the value of 3 units
  2. Courses to the value of 6 units towards the specialisation of their choice:
    • Earth Science;
    • Grape and Wine Science;
    • Plant Breeding Innovation;
    • International Agricultural Development.
  3. Electives to the value of  3 units, which may include Internship or Study Tour courses

    To satisfy the requirements for Core Courses students must complete courses to the value of 3 units.
