Overview
This program provides study of both the theory and practice of engineering principles while providing students with a choice of majors, allowing them to study, Smart Technologies, Defence systems and a minor in Entrepreneurship. All Engineering students will complete a common first year before branching out into their disciplines, majors and/or a choice of thematic minors. Emphasis is placed on understanding and mastering the underlying principles and techniques of software engineering so that graduates will be able to learn and apply new technologies as they emerge in the future. The early years of the program build a scientific and engineering foundation of computing, mathematics and digital electronics, in preparation for the more specialised software engineering courses. The third and fourth years have a strong emphasis on group software development projects with close industrial connections.
The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Software) is an AQF Level 08 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 4 years. This program is accredited by Engineers Australia and graduates of the program qualify for professional membership of Engineers Australia.
Conditions
Conditions of Enrolment
1. Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Executive Dean or delegate before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.
Academic Program Rules for Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Software)
There shall be a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Software).
