To qualify for the degree of Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) with Bachelor of Music, the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 96 units, comprising:
1. Core courses to the value of 36 units from the Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary).
2. Courses to the value of 6 units from the Bachelor of Teaching Curriculum and Pedagogy courses.
3. Elective courses to the value of 12 units to complete a Second Teaching Area. The electives must be sequential and selected from courses listed in the academic program rules for the degree of Bachelor of Arts, excluding any Music courses.
Second teaching areas can be chosen from:
- Chinese Studies*
- Economics
- English
- French Studies*
- Geography
- German Studies*
- History
- Indonesian Studies*
- Italian Studies*
- Japanese Studies*
- Linguistics (EAL)
- Mathematics
- Media Studies
- Modern Greek Studies*
- Spanish Studies*
* Students who wish to undertake a second teaching area in a language are advised to seek advice from the Faculty prior to enrolling.
4. Courses to the value of 42 units from the Bachelor of Music, including:
- Level I Music Core courses to the value of 18 units
- Level II Music Core courses to the value of 12 units
- Level III Music Core courses to the value of 12 units including a Capstone course to the value of 6 units.
