Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security is designed to meet the demand for cyber security professionals in a variety of sectors. It provides a strong analytical framework to understand the challenges, problems and solutions of cyber security from a computer science perspective. Students will develop technical knowledge and learn to apply this through the development of secure programming, networks and operating systems It provides a pathway, and advanced standing, to further learning in the Master of Cyber Security.

The Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security is an AQF Level 8 program with a standard full-time duration of 0.5 years. 

Academic Program Rules for Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security

There shall be a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security.

Qualification Requirements
Academic Program: 

To qualify for the Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 12 units, comprising:

  1. Core courses to the value of 6 units
  2. Elective courses to the value of 6 units
  3. Unless exempted international students are required to take ENG 7057 Communication & Critical Thinking in lieu of an elective.
Core Courses

To satisfy the requirements for Core Courses students must complete courses to the value of 6 units.
