Overview
Project management is a cross-disciplinary field that is vital for innovative activity in organisations and industries. Traditionally project management has played an important role in defence, aerospace, construction and engineering. Increasingly, project management is being applied in areas such as IT, banking and finance, disaster relief recovery, climate change, telecommunications and mining.
The Master of Project Management (Complex Systems) is an AQF Level 9 Masters Conversion qualification with a standard full-time duration of 2 years.
Conditions
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Faculty before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.
Academic Program Rules for Master of Project Management (Complex Systems)
There shall be a Master of Project Management (Complex Systems).
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the degree of Master of Project Management (Complex Systems), the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 48 units, comprising:
- Core courses to the value of 33 units
- Elective courses to the value up to 3 or 9 units depending on the Research Project
- Research equivalent courses to the value of 6 or 12 units in the form of a Research Project
Prior Learning
Students with cognate knowledge may be approved by the Program Coordinator to complete additional electives in lieu of core courses to the equivalent unit value.
