Overview

The Bachelor of Environmental Policy and Management (Honours) is a one year program that includes advanced coursework and a research project in which students produce an extended piece of work (thesis) on a topic chosen in consultation with an academic supervisor.

The Bachelor of Environmental Policy and Management (Honours) is an AQF Level 8 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 1 year.

Program Learning Outcome
1. Demonstrate deep understanding of a range of knowledge in environmental policy and management, and of the concepts, theories and methods of enquiry appropriate to the discipline.
2. Understand and communicate environmental policy and management ideas and concepts in both oral and written forms.
3. Plan and execute a research project, working independently on a specific environmental policy and management topic.
4. Select and use appropriate research tools, including technologies, to obtain, analyse, evaluate and interpret information on environmental policy and management.
5. Demonstrate intercultural and ethical responsibility, and the ability to form and sustain productive relationships both within and across disciplinary boundaries.
Conditions

Condition of enrolment
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Executive Dean or delegate before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.

Program Maximum Duration: As specified in Table 1 of the Coursework Academic Programs Policy, this program must be completed within a Maximum Duration which includes any periods of non-enrolment, leave of absence or approved study at other institutions for credit towards a Program.

Academic Program Rules for Bachelor of Environmental Policy and Management (Honours)

There shall be a Bachelor of Environmental Policy and Management (Honours) .

Qualification Requirements
Academic Program: 

To qualify for the degree of Bachelor of Environmental Policy and Management (Honours) the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 24 units, comprising:

  1. Core courses to the value of 12 units
  2. Research dissertation to the value of 12 units
Environmental Policy and Management Honours

To satisfy the requirements for Environmental Policy and Management Honours students must complete courses to the value of 24 units.

Core Courses

To satisfy the requirements for Core Courses students must complete courses to the value of 12 units.
