The Master of Business Administration (International) is a comprehensive degree that explores the core areas of business activity from finance and marketing through to strategy formulation and decision-making. The program also introduces students to the theories of complex systems, organisational behavior and leadership styles. Rigour and relevance are carefully balanced through the application of theory to authentic work place scenarios. Upon graduation students will have developed a sound understanding of business management practices, organisational cultures and their own leadership style.

The Master of Business Administration (International) is an AQF Level 9 qualification with a standard full-time duration of 2 years.

Program Learning Outcome
1. Think critically about the nature of leadership, diagnose technical and adaptive challenges and generate a range of solutions to mobilise people to operate in an adaptive environment.
2. Describe and critique different paradigms of management.
3. Describe the key business concepts of accounting, marketing, economics, finance, and organisational behaviour in conjunction with specialist knowledge to critically analyse business ideas, make expert decisions and provide leadership to organisations.
4. Identify how strategic objectives can emerge from the interplay of functional elements of an organisation and formalised planning.
5. Communicate a range of complex concepts of leadership and core business management disciplines to internal and external stakeholders.
6. Plan and execute research, manage and synthesise complex data independently from diverse sources to inform decision making and the exercise of leadership.

Program Maximum Duration: As specified in Table 1 of the Coursework Academic Programs Policy, this program must be completed within a Maximum Duration which includes any periods of non-enrolment, leave of absence or approved study at other institutions for credit towards a Program.

Academic Program Rules for Master of Business Administration (International)

There shall be a Master of Business Administration (International).

Qualification Requirements
Academic Program: 

To qualify for the Master of Business Administration (International) the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 48 units, comprising:

  1. Core courses to the value of 27 units, or core courses to the value of 24 units if completing a specialisation in Wine Business
  2. A specialisation up to the value of 18 units, or the Wine Business specialisation up to the value of 21 units
  3. Research courses to the value of 3 units
