Overview
The Master of Property is designed to prepare students for professional practice in the property sector. The program has a strong foundation in property development, appraisal, design, construction and project management. Students will develop strong presentation skills, negotiation and inter-personal skills.
The Master of Property is an AQF Level 9 Masters qualification with a standard full-time duration of 2 years.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate understanding of an advanced body of knowledge across a range of property relevant disciplines along with relevant relationships between these discipline areas especially in respect of property development.
- Display cognitive, communication, technical and research skills relevant to practice as a property professional.
- Demonstrate expert capability to practice as a property professional in an international context.
- Demonstrate a high level of ability to synthesise information and apply relevant theory in defining and solving complex problems.
- Exercise critical skills and deep knowledge of property to make autonomous professional judgements based on relevant evidence.
- Scope, design and perform an independent research enquiry into a property relevant topic.
Conditions
Interruption of program: Students must apply for permission from the Faculty before taking a Leave of Absence. Any extension of the leave without approval will result in the loss of place in the program but an application may be made to be re-admitted to the program subject to the admission procedures in place at the time.
Program Maximum Duration: As specified in Table 1 of the Coursework Academic Programs Policy, this program must be completed within a Maximum Duration which includes any periods of non-enrolment, leave of absence or approved study at other institutions for credit towards a Program.
Academic Program Rules for Master of Property
There shall be a Master of Property.
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the degree of Master of Property, the candidate must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 48 units, comprising:
- Core courses to the value of 42 units
- Research equivalent courses to the value of 6 units in the form of a research dissertation
