Overview
The Master of Business Analytics is a degree designed to provide students with specialist knowledge in business analytics. Students will gain the ability and skills to recognise, understand and apply the theory, concepts, and models of business analytics to contemporary business environments. Students will develop the skills necessary to apply modern business analytics techniques to their chosen field of expertise including handling Big Data, an ability to code in the most popular analytics platforms and present formative reports that interpret and present data to enable decision-making within the firm. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to broaden their understanding of business analytics through a range of elective courses. A key component of the program is the capstone research project, requiring students to choose an applied problem to analyse and provide high-level data analytics reports to assist in crafting a solution. This is an applied project, that exposes students to real-world data problems and provides experience in both written and oral presentations in a professionally applied setting.
The Master of Business Analytics is an AQF level 9 program with a standard full-time duration of 2 years. Students may be eligible to complete the program in a full-time duration of 1.5 years on the basis of prior learning.
